51. Directions:

You are planning to have a holiday in Southern China during the summer vacation. Write a letter to the sales department of travel agency to:

1)    introduce yourself and your purpose
2)    explain the type of holiday you want
3)    ask for necessary travel information

Write your letter in no less than 100 words. Write it neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2.
Do not sign your own name at the end of the letter; use “Li Ming” instead.
Do not write the address.  (10 points)

51. 一、审题与谋篇

本题要求写一篇询问信。指导语中给出了写信的目的：询问暑假旅游信息（ask for information about the summer vacation）。该信的内容应包括三部分：

（1）自我介绍，说明写信目的，
（2）说明你希望旅游的方式，
（3）询问必要的旅游信息。

二、参考范文

Dear Sir or Madam,

My friend and I plan to have a holiday in Hai Nan during the summer vacation and we would like some information about the tours you organize.

Do you offer tours in Sanya City? We would like to stay there for about 14 days. As college students, we are inclined to have an inexpensive and cost-effective trip. An ordinary one-star hotel would be good enough for us. We prefer traveling by train rather than by plane. Can you arrange a holiday for us?

If you do, please write to tell us the price of the holiday and the date of departure. I look forward to hearing from you.
