为什么每一个人的personality性格都会不同呢? 依据古人的话来说, 是因为人体内有四种humor体液, 它们分别是: 象征活力的blood血, 呈现身体乏力状态的phlegm痰, 粘液质, 表现怒气的bile胆汁以及代表抑郁心情的melancholy黑色胆汁. 它们不同的排列disposed方式决定了人的先天disposition气质. 所以英文中也有类似于phlegmatic冷淡的, choleric易怒的, melancholy忧郁的等这些单词.

Disposition原是"排列"的意思, 后来用作"性格, 气质". 我应该属于melancholy比较多的类型, 因为我比较喜欢类似于王杰这类歌手的那种忧郁的曲风. 呵呵.

如果你是那种能和初次见面的人顺畅associate交往的人的话, 那么你一定是一个sociable善于交际的人, 同时也是一个有着cheerful使人愉快的性格的人. 你是不是那种不顾对方的感受, 经常口若悬河发表长篇大论的人呢? 如果是那样的话, 我猜你要么是以为传教士missionary, "人类即将毁灭~, 神是我们唯一的救世主~."; 要么是某夜总会的招徕tout, "少年, 进来享受一下啦~. 我们的服务很周到耶~."

活力充沛, 性格外向的人英文叫做extrovert. 你妈妈是不是那种在家待不住, 经常出去参加各种社会活动的extrovert呢? 如果是的话, 赶快向爸爸打个小报告, 说不定她也是"主妇赌博集团"的成员呢! 开玩笑的, 要是真有人去告状了, 我可惨了, 不被人骂死才怪呢. -..-;

【单词扩展】

1. melancholy
melancholy和down和depressed在意思上有些差别. down或depressed是因为不顺利, 心情感到忧郁, 而melancholy则是指习惯性或是与生俱来的个性.
melancholy是melan(black)与choler(胆汁)的复合词. 听说古人都认为, 身体里的胆汁过多会造成人性格上的忧郁.
此外, 还有一个词也常用来表示忧郁的, 就是blue啦~比如:
I've got the blues. 我很忧郁.

2. 词根pos
词根pos的意思是"位置", 比如:
disposition: dis(远) + pos(位置) --> 排列, 处置
compose: com(一起) + pose(位置) --> 构成
impose: in(里边) + pose(位置) --> 强加于
expose: ex(外边) + pose(位置) --> 使露出
deposit: de(下边) + pos(位置) --> 存款, 存放, 沉淀

3. extrovert
extrovert用来表示外向的性格, 与之对应的, 内向的性格就可以用introvert表示. 那么如果你是双重性格呢? 那就是ambivert鸟~~
