考生应能掌握5500左右的词汇以及相关词组。除掌握词汇的基本含义外，考生还应掌握词汇之间的词义关系，掌握词汇之间的搭配关系，掌握词汇生成的基本知识。

1. overlap

n.      重叠部分；覆盖物，涂盖层；[数]交叠，相交；

vt.     重叠；与…部分相同；

[例句]When the bag is folded flat, the bag bottom overlaps one side of the bag.

2. overtake

7. quench
